Library Resources for Online and Distance Students: Home Delivery

This guide contains library services for students participating in online and distance classes at KU.

Home Loan Delivery of KU and Non-KU Owned Print Materials

KU students, living in the United States outside of Douglas and Johnson Counties, are eligible for Home Loan Delivery of print library materials.

Requesting materials

Patrons may request Home Loan Delivery of materials that are available through the KU Libraries through Retrieve from Shelf. When requesting materials, you will choose the Home Delivery option rather than one of the service desks as your pick up location.  Please make sure you are eligible for Home Delivery before using this feature.

Items from other libraries should be requested through Interlibrary Borrowing. To use the home loan delivery service, please indicate your interlibrary loan pickup location "Home Loan Delivery" and provide your mailing address.

Delivery of materials

Loaned materials will be delivered to your home loan delivery mailing address. Materials will be sent via FedEx Ground from the KU Libraries' collections or from other libraries (obtained via interlibrary loan). Delivery of materials may take one to two weeks, so please plan accordingly.

Find more information on the service and how to return borrowed materials at https://lib.ku.edu/services/request/home-loan-delivery.
