Industry statistics
There are many sources for basics statistics available on the Internet. One free resource for statistic that has been useful for this class is Statista: The Statistical Portal https://www.statista.com/ (Note: the basic statistical tables are available for free; however the industry reports are not.)
Individual company web sites
Look especially for links entitled INVESTOR RELATIONS, which can lead to SEC documents and reports, ARS documents, and financial statements.
From here link to the Investors page (at the bottom of the screen) and view the links related to annual reports, earnings estimates, and SEC filings.
Select "About Microsoft", then "Investor Relations" for several important links.
Census Bureau
Note the “Business and Industry” links, especially the Economic Census; NAICS (see below, too); button labeled “More” – which leads to several other useful links. Note the links on the left, beginning with “Economic Data by Sector” and others below that.

Under NEWSROOM / More….there is a link to Data Center Statistics, specifically “More Federal Statistics”. With some diligence, you can find statistics on a number of industries and other topics via the Topic links A-Z listing. Also, see the link to the Statistical Abstract of the United States.

US Securities and Exchange Commission
Publicly traded companies file various reports with the SEC, which are searchable in this database. Coverage extends back to about 1994. Under “Filings & Forms (EDGAR) select “Search for Company Filings” and then “Companies and other filers”. Search for a company by ticker, name or CIK number. See the link at the bottom of this handout as well.
