Accessing KU Libraries' Online Resources
Electronic resources available from the libraries' website are licensed by the University of Kansas Libraries for non-commercial use by KU faculty, staff, students, and on-site visitors at KU campus locations, for educational or research purposes only. This page describes who can access restricted content, how to access this content under normal circumstances, and how to troubleshoot common issues.

How to find and download KU's ebooks
E-books allow you to access and read books online from your computer or mobile device. In many cases multiple readers can access the same e-book simultaneously. E-books also allow you to quickly search, download, print, or link to specific book and chapter content.
Streaming Video at KU
Streaming video makes it possible to watch films via any computer connected to the internet. The only requirement is a high-speed internet connection and one of the following video players: Windows Media, RealVideo, QuickTime, orFlash.

Some of the collections listed on this guide are restricted and only available to KU students, faculty, and staff. However, these have unique URL’s with the KU proxy server, which makes it fairly easy to include them in Blackboard, an online syllabus, or distribute via e-mail.

Chronicle of Higher Education

This online version features daily reports on developments in higher education, information technology, and distance education. The full text of the current issue of The Chronicle is available every Monday morning, following the Friday print publication. The site features an archive of more than 12 years of The Chronicle. You can access the Chronicle via your smart phone by setting up a free Chronicle account using your KU email address.
