Parking Information

Visitor Permits may be purchased to enable a vehicle to park in Blue, Red, or Yellow lots. They can be purchased in increments of: half-day ($8), one-day ($16), or one-week ($61) in the KU Parking Office.

Hourly paid parking is also available for visitors on campus via traditional coin parking meters (marked by a meter icon on the KU Parking Map) and parking garages such as the Mississippi Street or Allen Fieldhouse garages. Additional information can be found on the Visitor section of the KU Parking website https://parking.ku.edu/visitor-parking#

Parkmobile

This is a service that allows users to pay for parking via mobile app rather than having to carry change. Parkmobile also allows the advantage of being able to add time to a meter remotely by phone instead of having to return to the lot to manually input more coins, as well as an option to be sent text message alerts when your time is about to expire. These meters are labeled with a green sticker that displays instructions for how to pay using Parkmobile.

The hourly cost of paying to park via Parkmobile is the same as long-term meters and garages, at $1.50 per hour. However,  a $.35 transaction fee collected by Parkmobile is applied to each transaction. Users enter the zone number posted on the meter sticker (or on the lot signs for lots 94 and 301) as well as their license plate information.  For more information about how Parkmobile at KU works, visit the Parkmobile website.
