Digital Humanities: Opportunities

The Digital Humanities Fellows are a cohort of faculty members and graduate students from across the university committed to thinking and working together for an academic year. The cohort is designed to form the foundation of a year-long, institution-wide conversation about issues in the digital humanities. Fellows will workshop projects, discuss readings, attend (virtual) events, and be granted unique access to training in DH methods and tools.

The HASTAC Scholars fellowship program is an innovative student-driven community of graduate and undergraduate students. Each year, around 100 new Scholars are accepted into a new 2-year cohort of the program. Scholars come from dozens of disciplines and have been sponsored by over 200 colleges and universities—ranging from small liberal arts colleges to large Research 1 institutions. We are building a community of students working at the intersection of technology and the arts, humanities and sciences. As HASTAC Scholars, students write blog posts; interview leaders within the digital research and digital humanities fields; host online forums; organize events around the future of higher education; organize collaborative book reviews; and much more. Work at HASTAC centers around rethinking pedagogy, learning, research & academia for the digital age.

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Office of Digital Humanities (ODH) offers grant programs that fund project teams experimenting with digital technologies to develop new methodologies for humanities research, teaching and learning, public engagement, and scholarly communications. ODH funds those studying digital culture from a humanistic perspective and humanists seeking to create digital publications. Another major goal of ODH is to increase capacity of the humanities in applying digital methods.
