Goals

  • Become better acquainted with library services and rescources
  • Identifying elements of a journal citation. 
  • Locate journal articles and using "Get at KU" to retrieve articles
  • Learn differences and similarities of key databases: SciFinder; Web of Science; PubMed
  • Become more effective and efficient in database searching
  • Become aware of other training oppourtunities such as bibliographic managment systems: Zotero; EndNote

Resources to help you identify and locate research articles:

KU Libraries web site
Library catalog:  to locate books and journals
E-journal search: to identify what journal content is accessible online
SciFinder: a chemistry database that can be used to identify journal articles and more

PubMed: database of mainly journal citations and abstracts collected from the life sciences literature from 1947 to the present.

Web of Science:a multidisciplinary database with an emphasis in the sciences used to identify journal articles

Google scholar : Use this URL to include the Get at KU feature.
Interlibrary loan/document delivery:a service to help you get articles not available at KU

 
If you need any help in searching the literature, finding articles, or accessing the resources, feel free to contact me.
