KU Libraries Makerspace: Audacity

What is Audacity and Why Do We Use It?

Audacity is a digital audio workstation (DAW) software that allows users to record, edit, and mix audio in conjunction with recording hardware like the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 Audio Interface that we use in the Makerspace, a USB Condenser Microphone, or even a computer’s built-in microphone. Audacity is a free software, allowing users of all financial means to download and access it. The software’s interface is also easier to learn and use than other audio software, like Adobe Audition.
