Application Requirements

Application Requirements

Submissions should be 1-2 pages including the following:

  • Name, Academic Rank, Department/Program
  • A short (500-700 word) rationale discussing the information literacy needs of your students that addresses the following questions:
    • What about information literacy is important to you and your course?
    • What are the goals of this assignment?  How does this assignment serve the broader learning outcome(s) for this class?
    • In what ways have you or your students struggled with this assignment in the past?
  • A draft information literacy learning outcome.
    • “Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning.” --Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL)

  • A copy of the prompt for the assignment you hope to revise, and any related documents.
