Office of Government Information Services (OGIS)

The Open Government Act of 2007 (Public Law 110-175) established the Office of Government Information Services within the National Archives and Records Administration. The OGIS provides oversight to ensure agency compliance of FOIA.  Responsibility was transferred to the OGIS which began operation in September 2009.
