How to Use This Guide:

If you are new to research, we recommend starting with the How-To Guides—especially the short videos on developing research topics, using the library search box, and finding sources.

  1. Begin your research with the Journals & Newspapers tab to get an overview and start collecting keywords.

  2. Then, head over to the Databases section to search for more in-depth scholarly articles.

  3. Use Reference & Ebooks to understand the historical, social, or economic background of your topic.

  4. Check out Web Sources for additional primary materials or contemporary perspectives.

  5. When you are ready to cite your sources, visit the How-To Guides for citation tools and style tips.
