Tanel Toom (b. 1982) is an Estonian Oscar-nominated film director. A graduate of the National Film and Television School in England, Tanel Toom has won numerous awards, including the "Best Foreign Film" at the 37th Student Academy Awards for "The Confession". He was also nominated for an Oscar in the "Best Live Action Short" category at the 83rd Academy Awards. His first feature film ("Truth and Justice") was well received by critics and cinemagoers and is the all-time most viewed film in Estonia. Rainer Sarnet (b. 1969) is an Estonian film director whose works include "November", a 2017 fantasy horror drama film based on Andrus Kivirähk's novel "Rehepapp ehk November" ("Old Barny aka November"). The film has received praise internationally and was selected as the Estonian entry for the "Best Foreign Language Film" at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated. Chintis Lundgren (b. 1981) is an Estonian animation director. She started in 2008 as an independent author and since 2011, she runs her own animation studio called Chintis Lundgreni Animatsioonistuudio.
