Commerical art galleries are private enterprises engaged in the sale of art, although they may occasionally display a temporary exhibition of art borrowed from elsewhere.
- Annual Guide: Sourcebook to the Art WorldThe August issue of the journal Art in America includes an extensive listing of galleries, museum & artists in the U.S. organized geographically.
- Art Dealers Association of AmericaFounded in 1962, ADAA is a non-profit membership organization with 170 galleries in 25 U.S. cities. The member directory can be searched by name, by location, or by speciality.
- Internationales Kunst-Adressbuch = International directory of arts = Annuaire international des beaux-arts.1952-. KU no longer has a standing order for this publication but the 2007 issues are available in the reference area of the Art & Architecture Library and the earlier volumes are in the stacks.
