BUS 305 - Business Writing -- Nonprofit Assignment: Newspapers

Searching the internet for news is an effective way to determine if your nonprofits is a current hot news topic.  However, when you need to find older news story about your nonprofits, you need to search news archives available via licensed databases.  

Relevant news can include: reports on fund raising and events; opinion articles; featured articles outlining the history and current mission of the nonprofit;  and, interviews with the nonprofit leadership.  

If your nonprofit is regional in scope search for news in regional newspapers.

If your nonprofit is national or international in scope search for news in national newspapers such as New York Times and Wall Street Journal.
