What do you need to do?

Librarians can help you...

Focus a Topic:  To get started, watch the Developing a Research Topic tutorial (UPitt).  Review your assignment guidelines, textbook(s), and encyclopedias to explore ideas.  For a list of encyclopedias, see the "Reference" tab above. 

Consult with your professor and/or librarian to refine your topic and develop a focused research question.  See librarian contacts in the right column.

Choose a Database and search for sources:.  Use the "Articles & Databases"  tab above.

Find a Book.  Use the "Books"  tabs above.

Cite Your Sources.  Use the "How to Cite Sources" box on the Get Started tab.  

Determine Whether Sources are Credible.  Use the "How to Evaluate Sources" box on the Get Started tab. 

 

Introduction

This research guide is designed for faculty and students doing advanced research in Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies.

The guide highlights important reference sources, databases, free websites on aspects of REEES, and linkds to tutorials and other tools for managing the complex process of academic research.  Use the tabs above to navigate among the resources in this guide.
