Organizational Development - old version: Library staff stories

Stories

StrengthFinders was a whole new way, a positive way, to look at myself and what strengths I bring to my work and personal life. Instead of constantly focusing on overcoming my weaknesses I am looking at how I can contribute more and be happier by utilizing what I am naturally good at and energized by. It also helps me understand and respect the unique and wonderful strengths others have to share.

Kim has both Intellection and Activator as strengths. They seem to be mildly conflicting but she provided the following explanation:

I love to discuss all types of topics, especially pedagogy, and sometimes I like to think about things a little bit first. However when we come up with a good plan I want to move on it. It is frustrating for me to wait a semester or a year to implement things. That is too long for me sometimes (may be because I worked in the corporate world for awhile). I also get frustrated when I feel like we don't move past planning stages to implementation.
