ARTstor Help and Tutorials: Presenting

A guide to assist with using ARTstor

Offline Image Viewer

The Offline Image Viewer (OIV) is ARTstor's presentation software. Once you download it to your computer, you do not have to be logged in to ARTstor to present. The OIV gives you two presentation options:

  • Image Palette Presentation: zoom and pan images during presentation, switch from single pictures to side by side comparisons when you choose, and call up image information.
  • Slideshow Presentation: create slides, choose between static and zoomable images, and input text. This format is compatible with Powerpoint.

Powerpoint and Keynote

To insert images into your presentations, save files as jpegs and insert or paste into your slides. You can also insert the image URL or image group URL into your presentation, but you must have internet access for the link to work.

Exporting to Powerpoint

You may export ARTstor images from the Digital Library for use in classroom presentations and other non-commercial, educational uses in the software of your choice. These images may be download from the Digital Library at up to 1024 pixels on the long side. Once downloaded, insert these JPEG files into your chosen presentation software as you would image files from other sources.

This tutorial walks you through the process of exporting your ARTstor image groups into a single PowerPoint presentation. Step-by-step instructions are also available by clicking here.

Citing Images

Please refer to ARTstor's guide on how to properly cite images obtained from an image database. This guide also discusses how to export citations to RefWorks, our online citation management program.
