Policies

  • Graduate students may check books out for 4 months.  Books may be renewed online five times -- after the maximum online renewals have been used, the items must be returned to the library to be checked out again.
  • KU Libraries do not charge overdue fines for items checked out for six weeks or longer -- if a long-term loan is not returned or renewed within 30 days of the due date, the borrower will be billed for the replacement cost of the item plus the $20 processing service fee and when applicable a $20 recall fine.  HOW TO RENEW
  • Long-term loan library materials, checked out for six weeks or longer, may be recalled.  The overdue fine for recalled items is $2 per day to a maximum of $20 per item.
  • Retrieve from shelf is a service provided by KU Libraries to pull materials from the shelves and place them on hold for you at the location of your choice.
