U.S. Government Information -- Guide to the tangible Federal Depository Collection : SuDoc Classification System

The KU Libraries services as the Regional Federal Depository for the state of Kansas and has extensive holdings of tangible government publications. This guide describes the collection, locations and access to these documents.

SuDoc Classification

The Federal Depository Collection at the University of Kansas Libraries is shelved by SuDoc classification.  The SuDoc (Superintendent of Documents classification) is a provenance based classification system.  Note: some serials and series titles are shelf with earlier or laters SuDocs.  Use the Guide to U.S. Government Publications to identify earlier and later SuDoc classification numbers.

SuDoc call numbers cannot be searched in the KU Online Catalog.
